Tom Daly:
Tom began in the Demo business by going to work with his
Dad at Red Ball Demolition in the early 70's and has never
stopped. Working his way through College at Red Ball led him
to form Phase 1 in 1984. Experienced and licenced to operate
all types of heavy equipment and vehicles, it is not uncommen
to still see him out on the trucks or working on jobsites.
He holds a BS in architecture to round out all the field experience.

Annie Daly:
Ann is undoubtedly the "coolest" member
of the Phase 1 workforce. Her work experience began as a ski
instructor in the Catskills followed by 2 years of drafting
blueprints for Carl R. Solminen AIA. The work involved the
renovation of many waterfront North Shore homes in Long Island.
She then went to work for Structure-tone in NYC, running their
plan room and learning the interior construction business.
Later, Ann worked as an estimator and project manager in NYC
for Cauldwell Wingate, Pacific Contracting, NTX Interiors
and Windham Construction. From 1990-2000 Ann worked as a freelance
designer and estimator. Designing and supervising the construction
of interior spaces and compete homes as well as doing budgets
and estimates for Contractors. All of this while raising 2
children. Annie brings all this experience to Phase 1 as Comptroller.
All of the things "behind the scenes" that make
a construction project go, Annie takes care of.
Her Hobbies include Snowboarding, Windsurfing and riding her
Yamaha 125cc Moto-cross bike. Ann holds a BS in Architecture
from NYIT in Old Westbury.

Derrick "Benny"
Bent:
Benny came to the US from the Jamaican West Indies, bringing
with him an incredible work ethic.
As the man that keeps all the machines rolling he brings heavy
equipment experience and training from such well known names
as Caterpillar, Cummins Diesel, Brockway, Autocar and White
truck. To round out his experience Benny worked in the field
as a driver for 20 years for Du-Rite and Vigilotti Carting
in the Bronx. He has complete knowledge of Gas and Diesel
engines, transmissions and drivelines, as well as hydraulic
systems. The City streets and the off-road conditions in the
landfills are plenty harsh on the equipment, Benny is the
reason the trucks keep rolling. Benny is a member of Local
813 Teamsters and serves as "Shop Steward" for Phase
1 Removals.

Mr. D.:
If ever Phase 1 had a soul, this man is it. Born as the oldest
of 8 children and raised in the Bronx Mr. D. (Thomas Daly
Sr.) brings a lifetime of experience to the table. Trained
and licensed in the US Military in the operation of all types
of heavy machinery, as well as a Disabled American Veteran
of the infamous 11th Airborne, he is the reason 11th Airborne
insignias grace the Phase 1 equipment. Husband and Father
of 3, Thomas worked many jobs (unfortunately all at the same
time) until settling at Red Ball Demolition for over 25 years.
It would be hard to drive through Manhattan for more than
one block without passing a building he worked in. Life lessons
learned by the Father and passed down to the Son are a large
reason for the success of Phase 1. Although Mr. D. is officially
retired, his great knowledge of the demolition and carting
industry and his extensive knowledge of the city is a great
help to Thomas Jr. in running Phase 1. Mr. D. is a Disabled
American Veteran and holds a BS from the "School of Hard
Knocks". He has 5 Grandchildren.

Brian Doxey:
Brian began his career working his way through college drafting
machine parts. He may be one of the newer faces at Phase 1,
but when Phase 1 first started, Brian was one of the guys
eating dust and carrying barrels on his back. In those 16
years between, Brian has worked as an Architect in NYC. Beginning
with the well-known Edward Durrell Stone firm and the later
at RGA Architects. Brian was actively involved in all phases
and aspects of all types of construction projects. Commercial
development, NYC School Authority projects, State Agency buildings
and everything in between make up Brian’s diverse background.
His expertise and experience are evident as soon as you read
a Phase 1 proposal. Every item is listed and quantified in
an effort to give the client a clear view of what the project
entails. Other companies simply can’t bring this kind
of experience to bear. To say Brian is overqualified would
be an understatement. Phase 1 is fortunate to have him and
we hope he will be with us for years to come. Brian’s
hobbies include skiing and golf. Brian has a BS in Architecture
from NYIT, Old Westbury.

Arnaldo "Wick"
Hernandez of
local 813 Teamsters"
While other kids were playing on the jungle gym "Wick" was learning how to fix and drive trucks at Crestwood Carting in the Bronx. He is a "Key" man in every sense of the term. If it has wheels, he has a license to drive it, and can fix it as well. At a young age he brings a lifetime of experience, having spent over 20 years in and around every type of truck and heavy equipment. He is married and has 2 boys. When he is not working or spending time with his family he also rides Motocross with his brother. (Cuba)
